October 2021 Build Update!

We’re making great progress & we need your help!

Our build sites have received certification as COVID-19 Safe Construction sites by the Chaffee County Public Health Department. We will continue to reevaluate our operational plan as we receive further information from federal, state, and local public health authorities. No construction experience is necessary!

**IMPORTANT NOTE TO ALL BUILD SITE VOLUNTEERS**

Our build days for the 2021 build site during the COVID-19 pandemic will be cautious. We will operate with several differences from the past:

1. Will limit the number of volunteers to eight, along with two supervisors, on the site each day to allow for social distancing.

2. Will require volunteers to sign-up online before each workday to manage numbers.

3. We encourage all unvaccinated volunteers to wear a face mask while performing any activities on Chaffee County Habitat for Humanity sites.

4. Each person will need to bring their own lunch and water bottle. No open cups will be allowed for health reasons.

5. Water and soap will be available on-site to facilitate frequent hand washing and tool cleaning.

6. Tool sharing will be kept to a minimum. Tools that need to be shared will be cleaned frequently.

While volunteering on a Habitat build site, you will meet new people and strengthen your community by building safe, affordable housing. You’ll have the ability to improve the lives of people, work alongside future Habitat homeowners, learn different skills, or advocate for affordable housing.

You don’t need any experience. Share the sign-up link with your friends, family, co-workers, and neighbors you already know. Are you ready to find out for yourself? Sign up for a shift today!
