What is Habitat for Humanity’s Women Build? The Women Build is a Habitat for Humanity program for women who want to learn construction skills and build homes and communities. This program brings together women from all walks of life to address the housing crisis facing millions of women and children worldwide. No construction experience is necessary!

During Chaffee County Habitat for Humanity’s 2017 Women Build on September 15th and 22nd, we worked at our twentieth build site located at 11301 County Road 198 in Nathrop. The groups worked on measuring, cutting, hanging and mudding drywall, painting doors, framing the garage door, as well as installing windows and doors. The ladies had a fabulous time, learned new construction skills and made a significant contribution towards affordable housing in Chaffee County. Each attendee received a Chaffee County Habitat for Humanity license plate holder in appreciation for their support.

Mary Hay with Una & Papoose

Dan Cooper (Century 21) and Trisha Flint provided delicious lunches and desserts. We would especially like to thank Mary Hay for serving as the Site Host for the 2017 Women Build Fridays. She does an amazing job keeping everything organized and always pitches-in wherever there is a need for assistance.
