PR & Marketing Interns

Cristian Brollier, PR/Marketing Intern

My name is Cristian Brollier, and I’m a 23-year-old graduating senior student at Minnesota State University, Mankato, working towards my bachelor’s degree in Mass Media and a minor in Marketing. Born in Iowa, I’ve lived in the Midwest all my life. I spent my early childhood in Nashville, Tennessee, and graduated high school in Minneapolis. I’m excited to work as the PR intern for Habitat for Humanity this summer in beautiful Buena Vista Colorado! If I had to describe myself in three words, they would be extroverted, adventurous, and innovative. I love to share my adventures and experiences, and I’ve been blessed to travel across the globe to places like Paris, Rome, and Lucerne, Switzerland!

My school’s motto is “Big Ideas, Real World Thinking.” I live by this motto every day, and Habitat for Humanity has given me an incredible opportunity to gain real-world experience in a highly competitive field. They have also helped me understand a need for nonprofits and why there is an increasing need to have them in our society. Some of my favorite projects I’ve been working on is planning for our annual Mac & Cheese Bake-Off, and a photo/video story showcasing all the great things happening here in Chaffee County.

I’m looking forward to growing, learning, and applying my big ideas to further advance Habitat for Humanity’s vision: Bring people together to build homes, communities, and hope for future generations.

PJ Hedman, PR/Marketing Intern

My name is PJ Hedman and I’m a 22-year-old audio engineer and production major working towards my degree through Full Sail University’s online program. I was born in Denver, Colorado, but spent most of my life in St. Louis, Missouri. I started playing piano and drums at an early age and later found out that I could create my own music after discovering GarageBand on my mom’s laptop. This led me to find my passion which is helping other artists with their music. There is a special kind of joy I get when see a client’s vision come to life. That being said, in the music industry, it is vital to be able to promote and market yourself and your product.

I feel so fortunate to be working as a PR and Marketing intern for Chaffee County Habitat for Humanity. I’m excited to develop new and necessary skills for my future while creating a marketing plan and fundraising for our big event at the end of the summer. To be able to gain that kind of experience in such a breath-taking part of the country is already a dream. The fact that all the work the other volunteers and I will be doing will make an impact on impoverished families in the area makes this summer much more special to me.

Construction Interns

Skyler Heimer, Residential Construction

Hello! My name is Skyler Heimer and I am a rising junior at the University of San Diego in California. Although I am now a student at USD I originally started my college career at Northern Arizona University, a beautiful school in the small town of Flagstaff, Arizona. At NAU I majored in Business Finance, although a crucial aspect of any company, I quickly learned that this wasn’t something I wanted to do for the rest of my life. I decided to head back to San Diego and pursue a school that had a credible reputation as well as a comfortable environment, pushing me in a more natural direction.

Learning from my mistakes before, I decided to change my major to Architecture, an industry that would allow me to express my creativity as well as serve a large role in society. In regards to a career, nothing sounds more interesting to me than seeing the construction of something I designed. I hope to start a construction firm where elegant modern homes/buildings are designed. I adore the architecture and style of Los Angeles homes and would like to make this a trademark of my designs, bringing the look to San Diego and all other parts of the world.

I look forward to being Habitat’s next Residential Construction Intern this summer. As an intern, I plant to support the amazing cause that Habitat has already put in place. My role as a Construction Intern will give me hands-on experience in the day-to-day activities of constructing homes. My hope is that by performing these duties and understanding how projects come together I will strengthen my perspective on the industry and ultimately my designs.

Nathan Weida, Residential Construction

My name is Nathan Weida and I’m going into my junior year at Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, Oklahoma. I’m majoring in Construction Engineering and will be graduating in the Spring of 2021. Since I was little, I have always enjoyed building projects and fixing things. I look forward to this summer working with Habitat and gaining experience while helping others. Buena Vista is such a beautiful place to be and I’m excited to go hiking and play on four-wheel-drive trails over the summer in my free time. I look forward to working with volunteers coming together to help others out!
