Volunteers are the heart and soul of our organization and provide countless hours of help and support to give families a hand up to homeownership. Our program is made possible by the costs saved by volunteers who share their time and talent in all areas of our organization.
As a small organization, we are always in need of new volunteers. Volunteering is a wonderful way to get involved in the community. We have opportunities for volunteers of all skill levels, in both construction and non-construction roles.

How can I get involved?
Work Site Hospitality:
- Prepare and serve food/desserts for hungry workers onsite. This is the perfect way to pitch in without doing construction. Our volunteers love home cooking! Habitat provides the plates, napkins, utensils, cups, and bowls. We also provide water for a beverage.
- Site Hosts are responsible for creating a welcome and safe atmosphere that encourages volunteers to make the most of their day, and to come back for more! We are looking for volunteers who are willing to be site hosts at least several times a year.
ReStore Volunteers:
Volunteers perform many different tasks including customer service, clean donated materials, stock shelves, load and unload materials from vehicles and ride along with our drivers to pick up donations.
Administrative Support:
We are always looking for folks to assist in mailings, answering the phone, greeting guests, data entry, and other general office activities.
Special Events:
Volunteers are needed at various times throughout the year to assist with special events and fundraisers.
Professional Services:
Professionals in our area can provide technical, legal, and educational services to Habitat as a way of serving the community.

Research conducted by the Harvard School of Public Health indicates that “people who volunteered spent 38 percent fewer nights in the hospital” than non-volunteers, and this Atlantic article cites additional findings that volunteers of all ages enjoy better health, more stamina, and lower stress levels. With Habitat, you’ll find plenty of those satisfying moments that make volunteering such a spiritual lift. And swinging a hammer or mixing cement is good exercise!
