Chaffee Habitat Partners with Mini-Blessings
During the summer of 2023, Chaffee County Habitat for Humanity built an expansion to a barn for an incredible nonprofit named Mini Blessings. Mini Blessings is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that provides equine-guided interactions and equine-assisted learning to those within the Central Colorado region. Through our partnership, Mini-Blessings will have more space to care for their many horses. We were thrilled to have our volunteers donate their time to construct this incredible extension, and we are excited to see all the good that this little bit of help we could offer to their organization. Thank you to everyone who volunteered their time and efforts. Chaffee County Habitat for Humanity aims to help the community by building homes that bring fellowship and hope.
Thank you, Mini Blessings for allowing us to assist you with this construction project. We extended the north and south ends of the barn, as well as their tac and hay rooms. An overall expansion of their barn is beneficial to their growing popularity and necessity to children and simply anyone who needs healing. We are honored to have such incredible partnerships in our community!
Adorable horses Lily and her son Messi are two of the many affectionate EAA (equine-assisted activities) horses that we met on the property. These horses work with their participants by “leading, brushing, going through an agility course, driving miniature-drawn carts, or enjoying the serenity of the quarter-mile “Mini-Trail”.” Their horses are filled with kindness and they are doing spectacular work with children with special needs and their own physical or occupational therapists.
