PR/Marketing: Natalie Toth
Volunteering has been a passion of mine for as long as I can remember, so working for an organization that is so heavily volunteer-based is a dream come true for me. I look forward to organizing, marketing, and executing a successful fundraising event this Summer to help Habitat further serve the community of Buena Vista. I am ready to begin exploring beautiful BV and everything it has to offer. After work, you will probably find me hiking, relaxing at the hot springs, or reading a good book by the river. I am looking forward to growing, learning, and trying new things this summer with CCHFH.
Construction: Jasmine Lagrone
Jasmine Lagrone is currently an East Carolina University student from North Carolina pursuing her bachelor’s degree in construction management. Jasmine was recently accepted into the Chaffee County Habitat for Humanity residential construction internship program. She has a passion for safety on construction sites and recently completed a course that qualified her for the OSHA 30 card.
Here is something that many people do not know about Jasmine: she began her Spanish studies that continue today several years ago after discovering that she understood a wide variety of Spanish television news programs although she was studying Portuguese before for its similarity to Italian. (The two languages share many cognates, and they originated in countries that are located beside each other). Jasmine reads challenging books in Spanish as well as watches television in Spanish and Portuguese between semesters. This practice has contributed to a working knowledge of the two languages for her that allows her to converse comfortably in these languages, which may prove useful around Latino co-workers she meets during her future career.
It is Jasmine’s hope that she can give back to deserving Americans through Chaffee County’s Habitat for Humanity internship the way generous strangers invested in her by paying for her public education with their taxes.
