Chaffee County Habitat for Humanity is pleased to announce the results of their 6th Annual Mac & Cheese Bake-Off Fundraiser held at the Mt. Princeton Hot Springs Resort Pavilion on Wednesday, July 31, 2019. More than 200 people were in attendance and $13,500 was raised at this year’s fundraising event to benefit the affordable housing cause in Chaffee County. Congratulations to Emily Grace Brooker for winning the individual category and Susan Rivale for the restaurant category. We truly appreciate all of the donors, bakers, volunteers, and attendees for making the 2019 Annual Mac & Cheese Bake-Off/Silent Auction a success. Thank you Chaffee County!
Five competitors in the restaurant category and 21 individuals vied for the people’s choice. This year first, second and third place winners in each category were awarded a visa gift card and certificate. For the attendees, there was an assortment of macaroni and cheese recipes to sample. The variety ranged from desserts to main dishes. After counting the votes, Susan Rivale & Terry Accaira, Banquet Chefs at Mt. Princeton, won the restaurant category with their “Bacon Lovers Mac & Cheese”, Gracie Defore in second place, and 2018 champion Brett Boren received third place. 13-year-old Emily Grace Brooker won the individual category with a “Bacon and Mushroom Mac & Cheese”, second place went to Johnathan Wilson and third place to Kent Maxwell. Congratulations to all of our 2019 Mac & Cheese Bake-Off winners!
The silent auction comprised of more than 50 items and combined packages donated by individuals, local artists and many Chaffee County businesses. Some of the items included rafting trips, resort packages, gift cards, tools, jewelry, and artwork.
