Volunteers gather for an evening of food, fun, and fellowship
About 45 people attended the 2017 Chaffee County Habitat for Humanity (CCHfH) Volunteer Appreciation Event on Thursday, April 20th at the First Presbyterian Church in Salida. This year’s theme was “Muchas Gracias! A Celebration for our Volunteers”. We truly appreciate each of our volunteers, every minute of time they give, and all of their hard work and dedication to CCHfH.
Throughout the evening, volunteers enjoyed a fiesta including a taco bar dinner, beverages, and desserts, as well as lots of prizes and a CCHfH Volunteer slideshow. Judy Riley baked two of her delicious fiesta-themed sheet cakes, Sue Shoemaker contributed her amazing dessert bars, and numerous board members, staff, and volunteers provided all of the elements for a perfectly scrumptious taco and enchilada bar. El Paraiso Family Mexican Restaurant provided the vibrantly-themed placemats, as well as the bottles we used for the table centerpieces. Tom Rollings did a fabulous job as the MC (Master of Ceremonies) for the evening and kept everyone on-point and entertained, and The BV Main Street Organization donated the use of their microphone/sound system. The First Presbyterian Church of Salida provided us with the use of their facilities and their Administrative Assistant, Kathy Moore, was extremely helpful with the room logistics and the audio/video system.
This year’s door prizes were generously donated by Buffy’s Flowers & Gifts, Beth and Dan Cooper, CCHfH ReStore, Chris Reitter, Colleen and Tom Rollings, Intentions Spa, Milwaukee Tools, Molly Shethar, Moser Fine Furniture,
The Adventure Company, The Trailhead, The Village Gift Shop, and Timberline Toffee.
We would also like to acknowledge everyone that helped with setting up the event and cleaning up afterward. This year’s event was a huge success thanks to countless individuals and businesses that contributed to the 2017 Chaffee County Habitat for Humanity Volunteer Appreciation Event. Muchas Gracias!
