What is Habitat for Humanity’s Women Build? The Women Build is a Habitat for Humanity program for women who want to learn construction skills and build homes and communities. This program brings together women from all walks of life to address the housing crisis facing millions of women and children worldwide. No experience is necessary!
During the Chaffee County Habitat for Humanity’s 2016 Women Build, we worked at the duplexes located at 124 and 126 Starbuck Circle in Salida. The group spent the two days working on interior painting, drywall texturing and exterior landscaping of the projects. The ladies had a great time, learned new construction skills and made a significant contribution towards affordable housing in Chaffee County. The Buena Vista Christian Science Church provided a delicious lunch on Saturday. Each attendee received a Chaffee County Habitat for Humanity t-shirt and Women Build tote bag.
