Chaffee County Habitat for Humanity Mission<\/strong><\/p>\n

Seeking to put God’s love into action, Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build homes, communities, and hope.<\/em> Chaffee County Habitat for Humanity is an affiliate of HABITAT FOR HUMANITY INTERNATIONAL<\/a>. We are a nonprofit 501(c)(3) corporation, and all donations are tax-deductible. We are qualified as an Enterprise Zone participant, and donations of $100 or more are eligible for state income tax credits as well.<\/p>\n

              Chaffee County Habitat for Humanity has an open-door policy: All who believe everyone needs a decent, affordable place to live are welcome to help with our work, regardless of race, religion, age, gender, political views or any of the other distinctions that too often divide people. Habitat for Humanity International and its affiliated organizations (HFH) will not proselytize. Nor will HFH work with entities or individuals who insist on proselytizing as part of their work with HFH. This means that HFH will not offer assistance on the express or implied condition that people must (1) adhere to or convert to a particular faith or (2) listen and respond to messaging designed to induce conversion to a particular faith.<\/p>\n

              The Theology of the Hammer
              <\/b>
              Habitat is a partnership founded on common ground\u2014 bridging theological differences by putting love into action. Everyone can use the hammer as an instrument to manifest God\u2019s love. Habitat\u2019s late founder, Millard Fuller, called this concept \u201cthe theology of the hammer.\u201d \u201cWe may disagree on all sorts of other things,\u201d said Fuller, \u201cbut we can agree on the idea of building homes with God\u2019s people in need, and in doing so using biblical economics: no profit and no interest.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>
